Stephen Smith, DDS
Patient Testimonials
Dr. Stephen Smith has given me the unique experience of not being afraid to go to the dentist. For someone like me who was always terrified of going to the dentist, that's saying quite a lot.
Dr. Smith has an extraordinarily calm and soothing voice and he always tells you what work he is going to do on your teeth before and during his work. I find this exceptional. In addition to this, he is so very accommodating about one's individual needs, like needing to rinse often, or making sure you are comfortable in the dentist chair. Very thoughtful.
I hasten to add that it is not just about Dr. Smith having an excellent chairside manner. He truly is an excellent, cutting-edge dentist as well. I understand completely why his patients never leave him. I never will. He's a real winner.

During my early childhood, I experienced several traumas in the dental chair, including having the unfortunate genetics of weak teeth. When I came to Dr. Stephen Smith over 25 years ago, I was extremely apprehensive about visiting the dentist. Dr. Smith has been fabulous with me. He has been patient throughout the years, taking the extra time when necessary to get me through procedures successfully. His work is meticulous and I am more than confident that whatever needs to be done on my teeth will be done with 100 percent excellence.
I had been self-conscious about my teeth, and when Dr. Smith suggested veneers, I decided to go for it. He did a beautiful job and over 10 years later, they still look perfectly natural. My smile became wider which has had a positive effect on my life in many ways.
I am grateful to Dr. Smith and his staff for the special care that has been given to me all these years. I can honestly say that there are times when sitting in the dental chair is the most relaxing activity that I have done all day. Trust me, years ago, I would never have said that!

Dr. Smith has been my dentist for over two years and my experience with him has been extremely satisfying.
The first thing that I noticed was how thorough, careful, and completely confident he is in his work. I have never had to return for corrections, and with my busy schedule, that means a lot.
Dr. Smith is truly a caring, compassionate and professional dentist. This is evident the minute you walk through his front door. His staff greets you with smiles of caring and warmth.
It truly is a wonderful experience to go to Dr. Smith's office for all my dental needs.

The pictures I had seen in journals and promotions for the kind of dental reconstructions Dr. Stephen Smith does all showed people with gleaming, perfect teeth.
But they might as well have been pictures of 18-year-old beauty queens projected in bigger-than-life images on billboards. They had nothing to do with me. I had stained, broken teeth that, in some kind of unconscious fury, I was grinding away at night when I slept. It wasn't that I was hopeless; it was simply, I thought, that I'd have to learn to live with these teeth.
And so I learned not to smile. When I did, I saw, in pictures, especially if not in the mirror, someone I wasn't: an old man with a gaping emptiness where there should have been a smile welcoming friends and the day. I learned to live with my teeth; which was to say, I learned to live with some self that I did not feel was who I really was.
Stephen is, however, not only my dentist; he is a good friend. And so he pushed me to do the dental reconstruction, for my own health. In five years or so, I'd grind what little was left of my teeth into oblivion anyway - at which point I could get a set of false teeth.
So for my dental health, I agreed. Stephen would, over the course of a number of months, orchestrate the repair of my gums; oversee any root canals that needed to be done; and then, in a one-day marathon, he would grind my teeth back into their essentials and fit each and every one with a new porcelain tooth.
Which he did. Over months, Stephen measured, adjusted and fine-tuned the reconstruction of my teeth, so that now, I have new, healthy teeth.
But more than that, I have back myself. In the greatest mythologies, where the real and the possible intersect, transformation defines the very nature of who we are.
We seldom experience those territories. But Stephen's work is, in the best sense, one of these realms. It changes you. Stephen gave me new, healthy teeth, yes. But much more, he gave me back some part of myself, and set me free.
